Shane Skidmore

Shane Skidmore has a 4.0 GPA and is the salutatorian. He is the son of Shannan and Allen Skidmore. He is a four year Honors Society Member and has taken 10 AP classes along with Spanish 4, earning scores that make him an AP Scholar with Distinction. He took AP Calculus his sophomore year and then an online Multivariable Calculus course his junior year, which earned him University’s nomination as the Spokane Scholar for Mathematics. Shane earned seven Varsity letters; three in football, three in basketball and one in tennis. He was 1st team GSL in football and basketball as a junior. As a senior an injury during football cut his season short. He recovered and earned first team all-GSL basketball honors this year. To cap his high school experience, he is playing tennis for the first time at University, leading his team as #1 singles player. Outside of school, Shane runs his own lawn-mowing business. He started in seventh grade and grew his business from one lawn and a push-mower to 15 lawns, a zero-turn tractor, and 6×10 utility trailer purchased with his own money. Shane is also an Eagle Scout. After high school, Shane is going to serve a two-year mission for his church in Honduras before attending college. He plans on either playing basketball at the University of Washington as a preferred walk-on, or attending BYU on a full tuition academic scholarship.
