Makenzie Fager

Makenzie has a 4.169 weighted GPA and is the daughter of Amy and Sean Fager. Makenzie played Soccer, Basketball, track, is also a member of DECA and competed at the State competition this year.

Makenzie earned 4 Varsity letters in Soccer, 4 in basketball, and 3 in Track. Makenzie received the team award for defensive player of the year this year in soccer. Makenzie competed as a thrower for the Shadle Park Girls track team during the first 3 years of high school. During that time she performed at the District playoffs each year. Not to mention, the Girls Track team was awarded the Academic State Champions her freshman year.

Basketball has always been her favorite sport, which is where she excelled throughout her high school career. Makenzie served as a captain all 4 years. Not only was she the leader on the court as the starting point guard but she was also the team’s top scorer most games. The GSL recognized her talent by selecting her as All League Honorable mention 1 year,  2x All league 2nd Team, and 1x All league 1st Team. She played in the GSL All-star game all 4 years of her high school career and played in 3 All State games, representing the East side of the sate for women’s basketball. Makenzie reached a career milestone by marking 1,000 career points this past January. Makenzie also led her basketball team to Regional playoffs her freshman year in the 2A league, and to the District playoffs in the 3A league her senior year. Both achievements were marked as the first time Shadle Park girls’ basketball competed that far in over a decade. 

Makenzie has also been working as a server and hostess at Fairwinds Retirement Home for the past year and a half. The Residents of Fairwinds and Makenzie have a mutual love for one another. They even came to watch her play and support her in a few Shadle Basketball games! Makenzie has been recognized for her hard work and compassion at Fairwinds many times was promoted for doing so well. 

Makenzie will be  attending Seattle Pacific University this fall. She has been awarded the SPU Merit Scholarship as well as offered into the accelerated Honors Program. Makenzie would love to continue to play basketball in college but has not committed or signed with anyone yet. Makenzie plans to major in Pre-Medicine with a Minor in Biology. In the future she hopes to be saving lives as a Cardiac Surgeon.
