Kate Turnbull
Scholar Athlete
Kate Turnbull has a 4.481 weighted GPA and is the daughter of Kasey and Colin Turnbull. Kate has taken 13 AP courses and is a member of the national honor society, DECA, Civic Engagement Club and a Spokane Scholar in World Language.
Kate earned 4 varsity letters in soccer. She also participated in track and field as a freshman. In soccer, Kate was team captain, selected “Offensive Player of the Year” by the Wolfpack, and earned second team All-GSL her senior season.
Kate is highly involved in DECA. She was a state qualifier her freshman and sophomore years. A state qualifier, national qualifier, DECA officer, and DECA store manager her junior and senior years. She was selected by GESA Credit union to be the first Spokane public school Intern for GESA – She trains NC DECA members to work as tellers, is responsible for Branch audits, schedules 30 students for various work shifts, and is responsible for promoting GESA credit union within the school. Kate leads the DECA chapter, DECA store and GESA Credit Union by example.
Kate has volunteered with JOYA Child and Family Development for their auction, easter egg making, trunk or treat, and other events. Through the Civic Engagement Club, she helped to put on the School Board and City Council Debates and has facilitated multiple presenters at North Central.
Kate will attend Point Loma University on a presidential scholarship to study secondary education.
