Erik Borg
Scholar Athlete
Erik Borg has a 3.52 GPA and is the son of Peter Borg and Allison Griffin. He has participated in student leadership for 2 years and is serving as a Teacher’s Aide to West Valley’s athletic director. Erik has earned 6 varsity letters, 3 in football and 3 in track. In football, Erik has been a starter for 3 years and has served as a team captain for 2 years. He has received awards for 2nd team all-league receiver, 1st team all-league receiver and defensive MVP for the 2A GSL league. He was also selected to be on 1st team All-State as a wide receiver as well as selected to join the Earl Barden All-State East/West football game. In addition to his other football awards, he was also selected as the SWX athlete of the week and GSL athlete of the week. In track, Erik has received 5 all-league awards along with being voted Team MVP. At state he has won awards as finalist in both the individual 400 race as well as the 4x400 relay. Erik has also participated in club track for 10 years, where he has placed as an All-American in the Decathlon at Nationals along with receiving many regional awards. Erik has volunteered at track meets at The Podium as well as at middle school meets. He also spends his free time mentoring younger athletes and helping them grow in their skills and sportsmanship. Erik plans to compete in track next year at the collegiate level. He has received offers from Eastern Washington, Central Washington and University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. He is undecided on where he will commit but plans to major in Sports Management.
