Ava Swigart
Scholar Athlete
Ava Swigart has a 4.5 GPA and is the daughter of Jaci and Jer Swigart. Ava is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in HOSA, Model United Nations, Civics Bowl, and both club and high school swimming. In her high school career, Ava earned 6 varsity letters - 4 in Swimming, 1 in Track and Field, and 1 in Waterpolo. In swimming, she was the 12 time district champion and record setter in her two events. She is a three-time GSL First Team athlete, receiving the 2024-25 GSL MVP award, and is a 4x Washington WIAA state champion in the 500 and 200 Freestyle. Last year, she received the Chase Youth Award in sportsmanship for her leadership with the Lewis and Clark Women’s Swimming & Diving team. Ava is among the top 1% of women in the nation in her events and has qualified and finaled in multiple national meets. Ava volunteers as the Lead Athlete Representative for Inland Empire Swimming which includes representing 2700 swimmers from her zone at the annual USA Swimming conference. She is a volunteer swim instructor with the NAACP and was a Student Voice for the Together Spokane Bond which resulted in a city-wide 2nd grade swim lesson curriculum and a commitment for a refurbished pool at Spokane Community College. Ava is a founding member of Spokane Students for Human Decency, has volunteered at Deaconess Hospital, and interns on the Spokane Regional Health Department’s Health Equity Team. Ava will attend the University of Nevada Reno and plans to double major in Political Science and Public Health. She has received a Division I swimming scholarship and will be participating in collegiate athletics helping the wolfpack swim for Mountain West conference championships. GO PACK
