Alma Smith
Scholar Athlete
Alma Smith has a 3.83 GPA and is the son of Sally Sanchez and Grant Smith. Alma has taken 7 AP classes and is involved in school activities including the Class of 2025 leadership and various other school specific clubs. Alma earned 8 varsity letters; 1 in cross country, 3 in diving, and 4 in track and field. In diving, he is a 3× state qualifier, 2× 3A state champion, and 3× GSL MVP. He also qualified for the USA Junior Nationals twice and was a semifinalist in two events. In track and field, he placed 6th at the state meet and is looking to be in the top three 3A pole vaulter. He was also named Most Improved in the 2023 track season. He has given his time to various community programs, mentoring younger athletes andsupporting local events, showing strong leadership and a commitment to giving back. Alma will attend California State University, Bakersfield, where he was awarded a diving scholarship. He plans to study Biochemistry.
